FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - HEADSHOTS

What are acting headshots?

Acting headshots are specialised professional photographs essential for anyone aspiring to a breakthrough in the entertainment industry. They showcase your versatility, uniqueness, and range as an actor. Think of them as your own Swiss Army knife, versatile and ready for any opportunity, from audition submissions to social media profiles.

As a headshot photographer, I’m dedicated to capturing your unique energy to help you stand out. My studio setting offers optimal lighting conditions and allows for complete creative control. We’ll capture various looks and outfits through our collaboration, resulting in high-quality digital headshots tailored to help you land your dream role.

Why opt for a professional headshot photographer?

A professional headshot goes beyond a traditional photograph. It’s designed to grab the attention of Casting Directors and Agents, helping them envision you in different roles. My SILVER package provides all the benefits of professional acting headshots at an affordable price, including over three hours of shooting time, unlimited wardrobe changes, and five high-quality digital headshots.

Do you provide guidance during the session?

Absolutely! If you’re unsure about how to pose or express yourself during the session, don’t worry. I will guide you throughout the session to ensure we capture the best images representing you and your acting range.

How to prepare for the session?

I understand how vital your headshots are for you and how paramount it is to get them right. But there are a few simple steps that you can take to help achieve this goal, like:
– Rest well and get enough sleep before the session to look rested and energetic.

– Avoid visits to a beauty parlour at least a day before the session to avoid redness or swelling. We both want you to look your best.

– Do not cut or dye your hair on the day of your session. Imagine the drama if you are not happy with your new style.
– Prepare your wardrobe, think about your dream roles, and please don’t forget to iron your outfits. If your clothes crease on your journey to the session, I have a steamer available.

How long is the session?

Session length depends on your chosen package, ranging from two hours to half a day. Please check the package details before booking.

What should I wear for my headshot session?

Wear clothing representing the roles you aim to book and making you feel confident and comfortable. Avoid busy patterns or very vivid colours, which can distract from your face. Remember, you are the star of the session. All packages include multiple looks to showcase your range and versatility.

When will I receive my headshots?

Please expect to receive all images for selection the day after our session. Once you’ve picked your favourites, your photos will be ready within 72 hours. That’s a pinkie promise.

Can I purchase additional images?

Yes, you can purchase additional images at £50 per photo, which includes three colour variations. Consider upgrading your package to save money if you want more pictures. Every little helps.

Can I swap one colour variation of the headshot for an extra image?

No, you always get each image in three colour variations (colour/colour graded/ black and white). Imagine what you can do with them.

Do you offer retouching services for the headshots?

Yes, retouching is included in all packages. I’ll ensure you still look like yourself but at your very best, retaining all permanent features of your face and removing any temporary blemishes. If you have a pimple that came yesterday, no worries. It will be like it is gone already.

Should I wear makeup for my headshot session?

Yes, in general, but please don’t overdo it. Every day, natural makeup is welcome. Casting directors want to see the real you.

Do you shoot full-length or action shots?

I specialise in headshot photography. For full-length shots, I can recommend some fellow photographers.

Can I bring someone with me?

If you feel more comfortable, you are welcome to bring someone along. However, please remember that having someone present could distract you from fully immersing yourself in the session. This is your time, and I want you to make the most of it without any unnecessary interruptions.

How do I pay for my session?

A £50 deposit is required to confirm your booking, which will be deducted from your final payment. Full payment is due on the day of the session, either by cash or bank transfer.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations can happen, and I understand that. If you need to cancel your session, please notify me at least 48 hours in advance. Any deposit made will be refunded if the cancellation is made within this time frame. The deposit will not be refunded for cancellations made less than 48 hours before the session.

What if I’m not satisfied with my headshots?

My top priority is your satisfaction, so I offer a satisfaction guarantee. If, at the end of our session, you are not happy with the images we’ve captured, you are under no obligation to pay for the session, and your deposit will be fully refunded. Please note that this guarantee applies only at the end of the session and does not extend to dissatisfaction after the images have been delivered for selection. My goal is for every client to leave the session feeling confident that they have a set of headshots they’ll be proud to showcase.

Can I get all the RAW files?

As a photographer, editing is an essential part of my creative process. Therefore, I do not provide unedited RAW files like a baker not serving a half-baked cake.

Can I change my appearance during our session?

Absolutely! Whether shaving your beard or straightening your curly hair, these changes can add variety to your headshots.

How should I take care of my skin/hair before the session?

Good skin and hair care are essential for a successful headshot session. Drink plenty of water and moisturise your skin in the days leading up to your session. This will give your skin a healthy, natural glow. Avoid any new skin or hair products that might cause an adverse reaction. For your hair, keep it natural and clean. If you plan on getting a haircut, do it at least a week before the session to give it a chance to grow into a more natural look.

Where are you based?

I’m based in Isleworth (TW7 area), located next to Richmond. Once you book your session, I will provide you with all the details and the best way to reach me.

Do you have a parking space?

Yes, we offer free parking at our private car park.

Is my data secure with you?

Your trust and privacy are of paramount importance to me. Rest assured that any personal information you provide during the booking process or the session is treated with the utmost confidentiality.
