Nick Lester - Viking King

My dream of photographing an actor with long red hair came true thanks to Yorkshire-born Nick Lester, who let me take his headshots and portraits. After a short chat with Nick, I knew which direction we would go during his headshot session. He also agreed to give me a small interview afterwards which I would like to share with you as it will give you a personal insight into what kind of person Nick is.

How did you get into acting?

I came out of upper school and went straight into an office job. I hated it, but it was great money for a 16 year old kid to be making. When I was 17 I was stabbed multiple times in an assault. This was a turning point and made me realise that I had to do something I enjoyed with my life. I decided to give up working behind a desk and became an actor.

Who is your agent?

I’m currently with Byron’s Management

What is your favourite movie?

Dead man’s shoes – Shane Meadows

What do you think makes a good portrait?

When you look at a picture and can feel the essence of the person. You’ve got to see the fire in their eyes.

What was your friend's / family’s reaction when they’ve seen you for the first time on the screen?

I get tend to get cast in a lot of aggressive roles, my grandad still tells me off when he sees me on screen swearing!

Who would you like to star alongside of?

Stephen Graham

What would be your dream role as an actor?

A Viking king would be a good start.
