Callum Mcgowan – Revisited

I don't stalk my models, but from time to time I like to go through my old photos and see what people I used to work with are up to now. Don't judge me, we all do it with our Facebook friends.
This time, I checked up on Callum. I met him a few years ago for the first time during a photo shoot for the American Crew's Competition; he was a model back then. Yes, it was a long time ago before he graduated from drama school. I decided to check what he's been up to and noticed he's an actor now. I got really excited to have an opportunity to work with him again. this time taking his headshots.
After our headshots session, he agreed to answer a few questions.

Katrina Grey- Actress, Director, Producer, Pure Talent

Who is Katrina Grey? A director, an actress, a writer, a producer? Well, she is all of the above, but the more natural way to describe her is - pure talent. As expected, she is very busy with her projects. She just finished her debut movie as a director - Daytime Nightmare, to be released next year.
But even with such a full-on schedule, she found time to give me a short interview.

Diana Bermudez – Indigenous & Proud

Ever since I read the Teachings of Don Juan I became fascinated by Native American culture; their mysticism and beliefs.
Later, I discovered how advanced their culture was before it was devastated by western invaders. I never imagined I would be able to photograph an indigenous person even in a multicultural city like London until one day I met the amazing Diana Bermudez.
She is incredibly proud of her roots and wanted us to create a set of portraits that would convey a feeling of her ancestry.
After our portrait session, she was happy to answer a few questions that I prepared for her.

David Schaefer- Headshots & Interview

Meeting David was an overwhelming experience, to say the least. His background, just like mine, is in fashion where he has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry.
He’s a very tall guy. Standing at around 195cm which should be around 17 foot and 95 inches or something. I don’t know. Point being, the man is tall, very tall.
And he’s got a heart of a giant to match his stature. The first thing that struck me, apart from his handsomeness, was how warm and friendly he is. When he visited my London studio to take his headshots he agreed to answer a few questions I prepared for him.

Lucia Saavedra- Headshots & Interview

The very first photo of Lucia I’ve seen was her wearing a Superheroine suit with a cape and all the whistles. This energetic and talented actress agreed to answer a few questions after our headshot session.

Richard Dee Roberts- Headshots & Interview

Richard is one of the kindest, warmest and polite person I ever known but also a very professional, amazingly talented actor and working with him was a real pleasure. Did I mention he is handsome as well? It's striking how humble he is at the same time. He told me a story about his grandmother, who starred for the first time in a movie when she was 100 years old. How amazing is that?

Hannah Dale – Headshots

These amazing blue eyes! When she walked into my London studio I felt like a child peeking through a sweet shop window and I simply couldn't stop staring.
Looking at Hannah’s portraits, one just cannot believe her eyes aren’t CGI or Photoshop enhanced but believe me, they’re as real as they get.
Apart from her striking eyes, she is a very talented actress and although we didn't have much time after our headshot session due to her busy schedule, she agreed to answer a few short questions when we were done.

Caridad Angus – Headshots

Caridad is one of the most interesting and talented actresses that I had a pleasure working with. She worked alongside the best directors in the industry. She also agreed to answer a few of the questions that I prepared for her.
Now without further ado, here is Caridad Angus in one on one interview.

Alex Walton – Headshots & Interview

My first time meeting Alex in person was when he came down to my London studio for our headshot session. During our brief chat, I had the opportunity to find out a bit more about this amazing actor and about his love of stage-acting as well as his wonderful sense of humour.
For his portraits, I wanted to create dramatic lighting, reminiscent of a theatre stage.

Dean Christie – Headshots & Interview

Before I first met Dean I wasn’t sure what to expect. In most of his pictures that I’ve seen, he looked really tough and I could really see him as someone who would play the villain in a movie. But after chatting with him, Dean turned out to be really friendly and funny, full of determination and drive but with both feet on the ground at the same time. He knew what he wanted from our session and I really wanted to make his vision come true. He asked me to create headshots that will look more friendly and approachable than his previous ones, photos that will help him get casting auditions for a role of someone like the perfect dad.
He also agreed to answer a few questions that I prepared for him.

Karlos Klaumannsmoller – Headshots & Interview

While messaging prior to our photoshoot with Karlos, I expected this to be a funny headshot session. He is not only funny and warm person but also a very professional actor and working with him was a real pleasure. His advice about the direction I should take my interviews helped me with shaping the way I talk to actors. It’s amazing how willing people are to help if you aren't afraid to ask.

Dean Kilbey – Headshots & Interview

Last year I wrote about why booking too far in advance can be dangerous for your business, and this concept of margin so eloquently captures what I had recognized had been my problem: I was so booked up with clients that I wasn’t leaving any margin for error, growth, planning, or reflection.

Nick Lester – Headshots & Interview

My dream of photographing an actor with long red hair came true thanks to Yorkshire-born Nick Lester, who let me take his headshots and portraits.
After a short chat with Nick, I knew which direction we would go during his headshot session.
He also agreed to give me a small interview afterwards which I would like to share with you as it will give you a personal insight into what kind of person Nick is.

Devora Wilde – Headshots & Interview

Devora is not only an amazing and beautiful actress but has also co-created her own company, Black Cat Theatre, with her business partner Alex Di Cuffa, which focuses on new writing.
After our headshot session, she agreed to one on one interview.
